Fresh Mint Limeade
I know my mint looks a little fragile here, but it’s from the garden! It’s just about the only thing I haven’t killed yet.

It’s time to get the heat in your car fixed yo, because this is too much:
Why do people do the strangest things with crochet? Remember these crocheted man snuggies?
We made it out to Pioneer Park for the Saturday Farmer’s Market. I was hoping to score some fresh fruit, but we ended up leaving with crafts (surprise) and some other random items. Here are some shots from the perfect summer day:

Oxtail Lily:

There’s hemp seed somewhere in this meal:

Homemade soaps:

Pony tailed bro in his skinny jeans:

Beautiful pocket mirror packages:

Equally cute hair accessories:

And some fresh mint limeade:

If that doesn’t say summer, I don’t know what does.
If we ever sell this house, I’m making these cookies for every showing. Every room has a yummy chocolate and vanilla smell! It makes me fall in love with our house all over again.
I’d post the recipe here, but it came directly off the Nestle white chocolate morsel package. Best. Cookies. Ever.
As a former graphic designer, incorporating typography in the home was a no brainer. The trick here was to find a font that actually works since there was so much ugly out there (think giant letters in comic sans…on your wall.)
This giant K in a clean serif does the trick. I think it does a good job of saying “WE COME FROM THE GENGHIS.”
This was found via a twitter friend who found it somewhere on the internets. Heelarious.
Happy almost Friday.
Some friends have started a weekend mobile photo group. It’s been a great excuse to test out some of the fun iPhone photo apps out there. Here are a few I’ve posted so far using camera bag and tilt shift gen:
I haven’t knitted in a while since it seems to take up so much more of my time than sewing. Here’s a cute little baby hat that I did decide to try. It’s made with a simple bubbly seed stitch:
We took a short weekend trip to Las Vegas to celebrate my new job. There wasn’t much for us to do there (lame) but the road trip was so much fun!
We live in a crazy part of the country where you can drive a few hours and see the landscape change dramatically. Here are a few iPhone shots I took during our short trip across Arizona:

Here’s the in-progress shot of the Dapper Day Bag from Sew Liberated. My mini Janome sewing maching broke 4 needles trying to sew the wide top strap to the pleated base, so I think I’ll be hand sewing the rest. :) There’s a lot of other cute patterns in the book if you’re interested, including a great introduction to appliqué.

I’ll be honest, we’re not the healthiest home food-wise (see cake balls below) but one thing I learned from my Mom was to keep a stocked fruit bowl in the kitchen. She had five kids, so it was nice to have something healthy and easy to grab before dinner was ready.
Oh, and it looks lovely too. :)
I’m posting these pictures from our lovely spring weekend as reminders that even though there is a forecast for SNOW this week, warmer weather will eventually make it’s way back.
And look at our Japanese Maple opening up with all the rain! Isn’t it lovely?
